Our vision is simple: Eliminate the distractions of financial admin and simplify work life, because running a business is hard enough. Small businesses shouldn’t have to worry about spreadsheets and lost receipts.

Right now, we’re looking for a People Operations Specialist to join our People team in Helsinki. If you want to help us make self-employment a little easier, Holvi is for you.

It’s all about people

As a People operations specialist in Holvi, you’re a part of our international People team with members in Berlin and Helsinki. Together we are in charge of ensuring that all Holvi teams can work successfully and efficiently and thrive at work. You will focus mostly on supporting the Holvians based in Helsinki and in our remote locations with basically all things employee lifecycle related. You’ll manage a diverse range of tasks from payroll and salary matters, employee agreements and related tasks to making sure the Helsinki office is welcoming to your colleagues, and other initiatives that drive our company culture.

A typical day could see you:

  • Managing payroll (together with our partners) including the related paperwork (holiday requests, part-time request etc)
  • Managing employment agreements, personnel records and our options and equity administration
  • Contributing to culture projects, for example organising our legendary summer party
  • Supporting the onboarding and offboarding of team members
  • Supporting Holvians in various personnel matters throughout their time at Holvi
  • Supporting team members and leads to successfully follow personal development plans
  • Looking after our office in Helsinki making it a great environment to work in and a fun place to be


This role is for you if you:

  • Already have gathered experience (2-3 years) in working in people operations with employee lifecycle and other daily people operations processes
  • Have experience working with Finnish payroll
  • Are familiar with the Finnish collective agreements (we’re working under Collective Agreement of the IT services sector, TiPal)
  • Are well structured and know how to plan your own work (if you can support others with that, it’s even better)
  • Are open, empathic and have a catching enthusiasm
  • Have ambition to grow in your role and develop how we do things. We can shape this role together!
  • Are fluent in English and Finnish, both spoken and written. Our company language is English.

It’s a plus if you

  • Have experience working with people operations in international companies (managing payroll, contracts etc in other markets than Finland)
  • Have experience in managing work environments and offices

  • This is a full-time position based in Helsinki. We need you to be able to be present at our office in Kallio on a weekly basis, but you have the flexibility to decide on when and how.
  • We offer flexible working hours with core office hours between 10.00 and 15.00 local time – the rest is up to you
