Provide assistance to crew and supervisors / management with duties in the field and shop.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Have or acquire a class 3 licence with Q endorsement
- Able to work on a 24 hour on call basis
- Complete driver evaluation
- Complete basic safety courses
- Complete customer safety courses as required
- Complete appropriate paperwork and submit in a timely manner
- Maintain required safety, operational and regulatory documentation as required
- Perform pre / post trips on units
- Maintain a log book and other required documentation
- Perform hot shots when required
- Assist with cleaning shop, yard and equipment
- Keep wireline units stocked with supplies
- Perform regular maintenance on wireline trucks and auxiliary equipment (under supervision)
- Rig in / rig out lubricator, logging tools, sheaves and other equipment as required
- Assist loading perforating guns (under supervision and upon completion of required training)
- Understand and operate various meters (megohmmeter, simpson, digital / fluke, etc.)
- Learn how to disassemble and service various rope sockets / cablehead
- Basic knowledge of pressure control equipment and tools
- Give proper crane hand signals as per advanced driver training
- Understanding of basic wellbore mechanics and design (size)
- Differentiate between sweet and sour well operations
- Install tire chains (under supervision)
- Mix oilwell cement
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow instruction
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and qualities of a team player
Education and Experience
- 18 years of age
- Successful completion of the pre-hire testing (physical / hearing test / drug screen)
