Takealot.com, the leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented SHERQ Administrator to join our team in Cape Town DC. The position reports to the Risk and Security Manager.
Your responsibilities will include:
SHE Management
- Implementing and maintaining the SHE management system within the business unit,
- Ensuring that SHE files are up to date and information is accurate,
- Ensuring that SHE appointments are done and kept up to date as per the appointment plan,
- Identify SHE risks within the business unit, reporting and mitigating these risks,
- Updating emergency response and evacuation plans,
- Coordinating evacuation drills,
- Identification and management of hazardous and dangerous goods,
- Ensuring the facility permits and certificates of compliance are up to date,
- Coordinating the monitoring and measuring plan,
- Coordinating monthly, SHE inspections against the inspection plan,
- Conducting weekly and monthly toolbox talks,
- Coordinating training in accordance with the training requirements,
- Prepare for and assist with internal and external SHE audits,
- Scheduling and coordinating SHE surveys,
- Reporting on and recording of SHE non-conformances,
- Reporting of and following up on injuries on duty, and
- Reporting of the business unit SHE compliance monthly.
Blue Area Management
- Implementing and maintaining the blue area SOP,
- Ensuring that blue area layouts conform to the SOP,
- Ensuring that blue area chairpersons conduct meetings in accordance with the SOP,
- Updating of SHE and 5S templates weekly, and
- Displaying related Wellness, 5S, and SHE information for the blue area.
5S Management
- Implementing and maintaining the 5S SOP,
- Ensuring that the 5S files are up to date and information is accurate,
- Assist with creating and implementing 5S standards,
- Coordinate the business unit 5S zone layout,
- Update and maintain the business unit 5S standards,
- Update and maintain the 5S standards register,
- Coordinate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual 5S audits as per the audit plan,
- Coordinate red tag events within the business unit,
- Conduct 5S training initiatives within the business unit,
- Report on and assist with the closing of 5S non-conformities,
- Assist with maintaining red-tag areas, and
- Compiling and reporting on 5S dashboards as per the SOP.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of Grade 12,
- SAMTRAC, and
- A diploma in Health and Safety would be advantageous
