The Role:
The Solar Power Module Test Engineer will manage and execute all stress testing of Solestial’s space solar power modules. This engineer will work as part of the Product Team to ensure that all solar module components undergo an adequate test campaign before incorporation into the Space Mission.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Create test procedures for different component testing based on space environment requirements.
- Collect the test data and create test reports.
- Test campaigns should be recommended based on new mission requirements or changes in the product.
- Source testing facilities and testing equipment to execute the tests.
- Manage Solestial’s test equipment and ensure it is properly maintained to support all tests.
- Manage test facility suppliers.
- Work with other engineers and technicians to prioritize the workload.
Your Background:
- 5+ years of engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in test engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or another technical degree.
- Experience testing and qualifying space products, including most of the following: thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, vibration testing, ESD testing, electrical end-to-end testing, mechanical end-to-end testing, electroluminescence testing, and welding verification.
- Experience working with solar power products.
- Experience managing technical projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications.
- Master’s or PhD in test engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or other technical degree.
- Experience with solar cell testing.
