  • Join our Autonomy Evaluation team, the cornerstone of building the platform and metrics that are used to measure system safety & performance. We are a dedicated group of talented engineers with dual mission; not only do we ensure that our system is safe adhering to stringent guidelines and safety regulation but we also ensure that it meets the demanding performing requirements while navigating the complex trade-offs in autonomy stack design 
  • Additionally, the team applies rigorous evaluation of data quality, ensuring all performance evaluation data is representative under diverse real-world conditions

What you’ll do: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data processing and evaluation pipelines in python using tools such as Numpy, Pandas, Ray, and PyTorch
  • Automate the evaluation, validation and triaging processes
  • Leverage cloud technologies, particularly AWS, LakeFS and BigQuery, to optimize data processing and storage
  • Build cloud services for data management, ingest, workflow orchestration, distributed evaluation at scale, and core components of our validation and safety case
  • Develop scalable data visualization solutions to present insights effectively
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues to ensure reliability and performance
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and visualization
  • Document processes, workflows, and solutions for team collaboration and knowledge sharing

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree, or PhD
  • 2+ years of experience in the complete software product development cycle from concept to launch: developing, testing, and maintaining, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture 
  • Experience building scalable data platforms for real-time and batch processing
  • Proven experience in Python programming
  • Hands-on experience with Dagster for workflow automation
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies, particularly AWS (e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda) and BigQuery
  • Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) for containerization and orchestration
  • Familiarity with open-source tools and frameworks for data processing and visualization
  • Experience with scalable data visualization solutions (e.g., Steamlit, Grafana, Superset)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice to have: 

  • Masters degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with C++ programming
  • Experience in modern ML technologies such as PyTorch, Ray, Weights&Bias, etc
  • Experience with Bazel for build and test automation

The expected base salary range for this full-time position in California is $143,200-$196,900 USD. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Latitude employees are also eligible to participate in Latitude’s annual bonus programs, equity compensation, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.

Candidates for positions with Latitude AI must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is available for this position.
