Overview: we are initiating an Operating System Transition program to upgrade and standardize its IT infrastructure. The Senior Systems Administrator will play a pivotal role in assessing the current environment, designing a migration plan, and leading the execution of OS upgrades across 300+ Windows servers and workstations.

Please note that

This job will require your availability from Monday to Friday, 7.30 to 15.30 PST
Length of engagement estimated in 18 months
Estimated starting date: November 1st, 2024

Responsibilities:

Assess the current IT environment, focusing on operating systems and related infrastructure.
Develop a comprehensive migration plan for upgrading Windows servers and workstations.
Lead the execution of the OS transition, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Collaborate with IT teams to identify and resolve potential issues during the migration process.
Provide ongoing support and maintenance post-migration.
Document the transition process and provide training as needed.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience in Windows administration and large-scale OS migrations.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and related technologies.
Proven ability to lead complex IT projects with minimal supervision.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
