We are looking for a Financial Controller to join the Finance team, based in Athens.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial activities of the company ensuring accuracy, control and looking for cost reduction opportunities
- Ensure that company acts in a manner to minimize losses, fraud and maximize profit
- Prepare monthly, annual, ad hoc financial analyses, reports and presentations to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
- Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
- Suggest updates and improvements and taking over the handling of projects for the further development of all accounting related - processes, procedures, interfaces, systems and workflows
- Oversee cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
- Develop and manage staff, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of related work experience (previous experience in Retail industry will be considered an asset)
- Academic background (Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or similar and/or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business)
- Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills both in Greek and English
- Experienced with ERP systems (Navision would be desirable )
- IFRS knowledge will be considered as an asset
- A professional qualification (CFA, ACCA etc.) will be considered an asset
- Excellent analytical, project management, communication, problem solving, interpersonal and teaming skills
- Outstanding organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Willingness to learn, proactivity, openness to work in a multicultural environment
