About the role (What you’ll be doing)

We’re looking for an Inventory Accountant to take ownership of our inventory and COGS balance for our group of 15 companies based in Australia, the UK, Europe and Asia.

As an Inventory Accountant at our Eucalyptus, you’ll play a crucial role in managing inventory costs and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

You will grow your skill set through exposure to different jurisdictions and reporting standards, and develop as a financial professional through taking on new challenges as the business grows in size:

  1. Month-End Journals and Adjustments:
    • Process month-end journals, meticulously reviewing allocated general ledger accounts and business areas.
    • Post relevant COGS accruals, inventory deposits, and other inventory adjustments as necessary.
  2. Timely Reporting and Variance Analysis:
    • Deliver within reporting timelines, providing insightful variance analysis between actual results and budgeted figures.
  3. Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
    • Regularly maintain and reconcile assigned Balance Sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
  4. Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with business partners across finance, supply chain and other departments.
    • Understand the drivers behind financial results and provide exceptional support.
  5. Ad Hoc Analysis and Reporting:
    • Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports as requested by internal management and external auditors.
  6. Data Integrity and Process Improvements:
    • Ensure the integrity of information entered into the general ledger, adhering to finance policies and procedures.
    • Continuously identify opportunities for improving accounting and reporting processes, aiming to reduce completion time.

About you (Who you are)

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred
  • First audit movers are encouraged to apply
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting
  • Experience in inventory accounting and external audit would be highly regarded
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and relevant accounting standards
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel
  • Experience in using Netsuite
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
