Responsible for supervising and directing all operational activities within the Recovery Distribution Centre, providing overall leadership and management in operational areas such as operational efficiency, continuous improvement and driving performance.
This position reports to: National Returns and Recovery Manager.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage and ensure that Recovery department is well organised and controlled within the KPI parameters
- Ensure that all stock is accurately received, processed, filed, and dispatched
- Assist in the implementation of improvement processes and maintain the policies and procedures and systems to minimise costs and maximize working capital
- Ensuring all DC work areas are clean and tidy and safe for staff to work in (housekeeping)
- Manage and implement the Recovery SOP’s and ensure that it is strictly adhered to, from the time the stock arrives at the DC till it leaves
- Understanding of sales and the impact thereof on the Recovery business performance
- File stock in correct allocated areas and ensure stock accuracy through disciplined stock control
- Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the Recovery processes are controlled and that all month-end stock reports are accurate and on-time; all stock modifications are completed correctly, and the stock mapping aligns with the finance departments reports.
- Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed, and resolved
- Ensure that all the documents related to the sales of the Recovery stock are in order
- Maintain FIFO of all tasks and stock offers within the department
- Effective leadership and direction for the operations team through involvement and communication to deliver on the relevant key business drivers
- Measure and supervise the staff through formal staff appraisals, development, coaching and disciplinary procedures
- Conform to all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards and legislation as set out by the business and the OHS Act
- Drive continuous improvement measures within the department
- Ensure escalated daily operational queries from the management team are resolved timeously
- Ensure that all processes are completed on time - daily planning with Team Leaders
- Consistent compliance to good hygiene and housekeeping disciplines. Ensure 5S program is properly implemented and maintained within facility
- Service & maintenance of all equipment used within the DC

Qualifications:
- Matric
- Tertiary Qualification advantageous
- 3-5 years previous experience the Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehousing and Distribution environment
- 2+ years in a supervisor Role .
Key Attributes required:
- Have a detailed understanding of inventory control / warehouse management systems (including E-Commerce experience)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and service focused working environment.
- Possess excellent personal organisation and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods.
- Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.
