West Monroe is hiring for a Manager to join our Energy & Utilities Practice with a focus on decarbonization technologies and strategies within the utility industry. What will you be doing? 

Client Delivery: 

  • Lead client engagements focused on the evaluation, selection and implementation of new technologies (e.g. DER, EV, DERMS) to achieve their financial and decarbonization objectives 
  • Lead the development of Decarbonization / Grid Modernization assessments for utility and/or client’s customers (e.g., technical assistance, multi-year roadmaps, BCA analysis, integration of renewable resources, electrification recommendations) 
  • Consult to utility clients on the evolving Decarbonization goals and landscape (i.e., vendor products and services, product capabilities and functionality, pricing models, product roadmaps, regulatory requirements) 
  • Support utility clients with Decarbonization / Grid Modernization solution solicitations (i.e., requirements and specifications, vendor sourcing strategies, RFP development, evaluation criteria, vendor product demonstrations, and selection recommendations) 
  • Perform change management assessments for utility clients that are planning or implementing large transformational programs related to decarbonization including training, organizational design, and communications elements. 
  • Manage and/or participate in a team of solution implementation, systems integration, and business consultants. 
  • Contribute to the Energy & Utilities consulting practice (methodologies, service offerings, team development), and drive best practice behaviors into the organization. 

Practice Development: 

  • Be able to contribute to the developing and growing Energy & Utility practice from a business development, and culture perspective. 
  • Promote thought leadership in emerging technologies from partnerships to go-to-market offerings, to strategy, to design and implementation. 

Business Development: 

  • Understand business needs and requirements and help turn those goals into concrete projects and detailed proposals. 
  • Contribute to business development process as an emerging technologies subject matter expert. 
  • Creating work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for prospects. 
  • Actively build a professional network and affiliate network in the local community. 

We need someone who can bring the following to the table: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Management Information Systems or Environmental Management preferred 
  • Minimum 7 years of work experience within the Energy & Utilities industry and at least four years of decarbonization / grid modernization experience. 
  • At least 5 years of professional services consulting experience preferred. 
  • Deep knowledge of and direct experience with decarbonization, DERs, and transportation electrification  
  • Prior experience managing a team of professional services consultants in a project environment 
  • Demonstrated expertise within Business Process Optimization (BPO) and Organizational Change Management (OCM) functional areas 
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the year annually

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here. Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.

Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use after successful completion of one year of employment.
