Barista (Temporary)

General Summary
The Barista is responsible for preparing hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea to LAIKA's employees and visitors. 

Job Functions 

• Prepare and serve beverages to employees and visitors.
• Display confidence and knowledge of offerings with the ability to educate employees on menu and make recommendations based on their preferences.
• Properly handle and maintain equipment.
• Clean and sanitize work/dining areas, equipment and utensils.
• Maintain highly organized and welcoming workspace.
• Take inventory and replenish items accordingly.
• Update signage and displays.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and quality controls.

Qualifications 

• 0-2 years in food and beverage preparation or customer service.
• Passion for hospitality and coffee.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good work ethic with ability to maintain professionalism.
• Ability to work well under pressure and juggle various priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Food Handler Certification.

• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works under typical office conditions and is exposed to variable indoor temperatures. The noise level is usually quiet or moderate.

On-site in Hillsboro, OR

Salary
$20.00/hour set rate, non-negotiable.
