Woven by Toyota is the mobility technology subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation. Our mission is to deliver safe, intelligent, human-centered mobility for all. Through our Arene mobility software platform, safety-first automated driving technology and Toyota Woven City — our test course for advanced mobility — we’re bringing greater freedom, safety and happiness to people and society.
Our unique global culture weaves modern Silicon Valley innovation and time-tested Japanese quality craftsmanship. We leverage these complementary strengths to amplify the capabilities of drivers, foster happiness, and elevate well-being.
TEAM
Monitoring for driver inattentiveness, including visual distraction and eye closure, using in-cabin cameras will become a standard safety feature in new vehicles. Our challenges include how to handle the monitoring of drivers, passenger and driving environments and how to handle anything that could obstruct the camera from recognizing facial features, such as eyewear or facial hair.
For the next-generation In-cabin Monitoring System (IMS) development, we aim to enhance capabilities, improve robustness, and expand use cases to make sure drivers maintain the appropriate level of focus depending on the situation and level of automation in the vehicle.
