Primary Duties:
Ensures that the guest is greeted with a warm and welcoming smile. Ensures that Guests receive their drinks and food in a timely manner, while providing friendly and efficient service. Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests of bar and service bar, following standard recipe and the Company’s alcohol beverage policies; merchandises drinks; and is attentive to guests, making them feel welcome at all times.
This is a non-exempt tipped position.
Essential Job Functions:
- Exemplifies the Ling & Louie’s Spirit of Service in all duties.
- Complies with all Board of Health, INS and Safety requirements.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Reports to work as indicated on the work schedule and in the correct uniform.
- Understands and complies with the Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service program as directed in the Employee Handbook.
- Follows alcohol and awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests.
- Correctly sets-up bar and completes all opening/sidework duties to include: Cleaning, stocking, checking and achieving par levels, and preparing items for the bar.
- Greets all bar guests immediately, makes beverage suggestions and answers questions regarding food and beverage service.
- Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and dining room guests while adhering to Ling & Louie’s recipes, specifications and procedures.
- Ensures that all food and beverages are served and delivered promptly, garnished correctly and meet Ling & Louie’s quality and presentation standards.
- Observes guests to ensure guest satisfaction with food, beverages and service. Immediately recognizes and responds to any guest’s needs and/or requests.
- Must be able to accurately describe and market all menu items.
- Responsible for the bar organization and cleanliness. Inputs orders into the POS system and creates a check for each guest.
- Ensures that all drinks are accounted whether guest is in the bar or the dining room.
- Orders, requisitions and stocks all liquor, beverage and other bar supplies according to Restaurant procedures.
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
- Must represent the restaurant in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Performs all duties and maintains knowledge of all Ling & Louie’s standards and procedures
- Must have ability to stand for long periods of time as well as lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Education and Experience:
- High School education or equivalent
- Minimum of six months bartending and six months server experience in a full
service restaurant
Special Working Conditions:
Position requires extensive interaction with the public and all levels of employees both within and outside of organization.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise, odors, fumes, temperature fluctuations, grease and other conditions associated with a restaurant.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to constantly stand and exert well-paced mobility for a period up to four hours in length.
- Must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach and squat on a frequent basis to obtain and store food, beverage items, small-wares and service equipment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Vision abilities to include: distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral. Also the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to continuously use fingers to bilaterally operate point of sale equipment, prepare and serve food/beverage items.
