We have a fantastic opportunity with our IT refurb team where your work will support the growth of our electronics division and influence the company's service to its customers, and vendors.
As an Electronics Purchasing Specialist, these are some of the duties you will be responsible for:
- Bid Analysis and Bidding:
- Review bid lists and auction items for electronic equipment.
- Develop competitive bids by analyzing the quality, condition, and market demand for various electronic components.
- Submit bids on behalf of the company and track outcomes to maximize success rates.
- Valuation and Pricing:
- Evaluate and establish fair market value for a wide range of electronics equipment, IT hardware, components, and parts.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain factors.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide accurate pricing information and recommendations for purchasing decisions.
- Evaluate and establish fair market value for electronic items graded and tested on projects, ensuring accurate pricing before settlement.
- Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, wholesalers and auction houses.
- Negotiate terms, pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with all supplier agreements and company standards.
- Inventory and Reporting:
- Track and report on purchasing activities, bid outcomes and market trends.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase transactions, valuations and cost analysis.

Requirements to Excel in this Role
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex pricing data.
- Excellent negotiation, verbal and electronic communication skills.
- Familiarity with the electronics market, with a focus on computer hardware, networking equipment, and electronic components.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and procurement software/tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong ability to prioritize projects.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Education in electronics or related field or equivalent work experience.
