Cost Accountant
Location: Tifton, Georgia
Work Arrangement: 100% In-Office
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
Responsibilities:
- Conduct moderately complex cost audits, preparing and analyzing detailed cost reports.
- Maintain and reconcile complex ledgers, analyze specific cost account ledgers, and prepare intricate journal entries.
- Prepare a variety of reports to maintain and analyze the cost accounting system, ensuring proper allocation of costs.
- Research and compile historical cost data to prepare reports and analysis on material purchases, labor, equipment, depreciation, repairs, operating expenses, overhead, and similar activities.
- Analyze unit costs and project future expenses through comprehensive report preparation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised cost accounting systems, procedures, and controls.
- Analyze operating costs to determine variances and identify their causes.
- Oversee the preparation of various records and reports compiled by lower-level accounting personnel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with cost control systems and related cost accounting functions, including the preparation of strategic recommendations to management.
- Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
- Working knowledge of ERP systems required, with preference for SAP modules FI (Financial Accounting) and CO (Controlling).
