The Opportunity
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Strategic Finance Lead, Marketing & Product to join our Strategic Finance team that supports our Self-Serve operation. This team helps shape and scale the growth of our Self-Serve efforts by partnering with Marketing and Product teams across the Company to improve our business model's profitability, scalability, and long-term defensibility. We are looking for a candidate experienced with Self-Serve business models who can model the future and collaborate to help carry projects from conception through execution. On a typical day, you may find yourself extracting and analyzing data to uncover trends, working with cross-functional partners to build business cases for new initiatives, and helping establish and drive some of the most impactful projects the Company undertakes. This role will report to the Senior Director of Finance.
We are seeking candidates who are excellent communicators and analytically strong. These candidates must be able to identify business opportunities and lead appropriate analyses and diligence to inform a course of action. Candidates must also be able to apply critical judgment to drive decisions that will impact the business.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with senior leaders in Product and Marketing organizations to support strategic initiatives and high-impact decisions, including investment trade-offs, goal setting, and more.
- Drive strategic decision-making—monitor key signals and utilize data to Identify trends in funnel and Customer performance. Provide visibility to stakeholders and collaborate with partners to accelerate strategic decisions that drive scale and profitability to our Self-Serve operations.
- Build complex driver-based models that support special projects and help drive well-informed real-time decisions around future business investment decisions and resource allocation.
- Partner and offer support on all SaaS-based forecast models for our Self-Serve operations, including new bookings and renewal models.
- Draft critical narratives and present performance trends to members of our executive team.
- Work with key partners on our Data Science, Business Intelligence, Product, Marketing, and Finance teams to design critical metrics to measure business performance and incorporate them into our operational decision-making process.
- Program and project manage OKRs to deliver near and long-term success for the business.
- Support board presentations, materials, investor reporting, and communications.
- Partner with our Corporate Finance team on financing, corporate development, and strategic partnership activities, including financial assessments and analysis, due diligence, and integration.
Qualifications
- Has 10+ years of Professional experience in Finance with strong operational knowledge of SaaS business models. Earlier career experience could have been in a combination of Strategic Finance, FP&A, equity research, private equity, hedge fund, investment banking, or corporate finance.
- Has a deep fluency in LTV, the acquisition and retention dynamics of an optimization-focused subscription business with millions of paid users.
- Is highly analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem-solving involving financial modeling and working with large data sets. Thinks strategically and drives nuanced, detailed analyses.
- Has proven experience working cross-functionally and is a thoughtful collaborator and great listener, keenly focused on understanding business challenges, building strong relationships, and driving impact.
- Has experience with and passion for hyper-growth, dynamic, driven organizations.
- Has been a part of high-impact teams in strategic business partnering, forecasting/FP&A, retention analytics, marketing analysis, or product support, ideally in a hyper-growth, resource-constrained environment.
- Can communicate complex financial concepts with precision and clarity.
- Displays a high level of genuine curiosity about our business, exhibits eagerness to learn, and is biased toward action.

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.
Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.

Zone 1: $216,000- $297,000/year (USD)
