West Monroe is seeking consulting interns for our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice. In this dynamic role, you will work with our national Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, serving both corporate and private equity clients.

As a Mergers & Acquisitions Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about conducting operational and technology assessments during the due diligence phase, planning part of the carve-out or merger integration transactions, post-close execution management (e.g., IMO), and sell-side advisory.  

Mergers & Acquisitions Interns have these primary responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-industry teams, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, and demonstrate executive presence with C-level client counterparts  
  • Facilitate due diligence site visits to identify operational and technology strategies, organizational structures, and current state business processes and technology support 
  • Assess operational and technology investment strategies, comparing respective operating models and organizational structures against leading practices and industry benchmarks  
  • Guide the team in preparing focused request lists and agendas, facilitating on-site reviews, and providing support over deliverable creation 
  • Work with engagement leadership to implement operational processes and technologies that enhance value creation and process efficiency across functions  
  • Drive the development and enhancement of West Monroe's M&A methodologies (diligence, planning, carve-out, etc.) and client delivery approaches 
  • Understand client strategy and investment priorities, translating them into concrete engagements and detailed proposals
  • Support the creation of work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for prospective clients and projects

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree, expected to graduate between Dec 2024 - Jul 2025
  • Intern candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation or sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., OPT, H-1B visa, TN, etc.) 
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0  
  • Interns must live within 100 miles of their office throughout their internship. Our culture emphasizes team collaboration and a hybrid work model 
  • Ability to travel Monday – Thursday (weekly) up to 50%. West Monroe covers travel expenses

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the pay rate for this role is $39.00.
