Job Summary: The User Access Management Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing user access rights to ensure security and compliance within the organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access controls to protect sensitive information and systems from unauthorized access.
This position will be located in our San Antonio office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Access Control Audits:
- Send out user access reviews, infrastructure access reviews, and user share drive access reviews to managers and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
- User Provisioning and Deprovisioning
- Process requests to provision and deprovision user accounts to systems and applications.
- Work tickets for access issues escalated from the Service Desk.
- Work closely with Security and HR for emergency terminations.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with IT, HR, and other departments to ensure timely provisioning and de-provisioning of user access.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users regarding access-related issues.
- Assist with user training on requesting access, onboarding and deprovisioning process.
- Ability to work within Microsoft Identity Management (MIM) tool to remediate issues per knowledge articles, in the onboarding process when accounts are created, updated, or disabled.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming queries and requests from end users, either via email, chat or over the phone.
- Help users resolve issues with computer hardware or software.
- Respond to user inquiries, assess problems and issues with IT equipment and applications, and help resolve these issues for users.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or at least 3 years of experience in user access management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of access control models, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using access management tools and technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Certification in relevant areas (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) is a plus.
Key Competencies:
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in managing user access and identifying potential security risks.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of IT systems, access management tools, and security protocols.
- Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve access-related issues.
- Compliance-Oriented: Understanding and implementing regulatory requirements and best practices in access management.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid work schedule with office hours every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- May require occasional after-hours work for system updates or incident response.
