Hire Resolve is currently seeking a talented and experienced Production Supervisor to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our workflows are efficient, cost-effective, and deliver the highest quality results.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily production activities to ensure operations run smoothly and within established SLAs.
- Organize and streamline workflows to optimize productivity while minimizing costs.
- Manage and reduce scrap, ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
- Handle and close NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) effectively.
- Update and maintain the production schedule, providing detailed shift reports.
- Oversee housekeeping, WIP areas, and ensure legal compliance and safety standards are upheld.
- Train, test, and evaluate employees, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.
- Ensure machines are operational, with first-line maintenance and timely fault-finding.
- Manage time and attendance, control overtime, and ensure adequate packing materials and consumables are available.
- Coordinate with other departments (sales, finance, logistics, supply-chain) to ensure seamless operations.
- Handle customer queries, inform them of any quality issues, and provide feedback efficiently.
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in the steel industry, with a strong background in production.
- Education:
- Matric/Grade 12 with excellent math skills; a relevant degree or diploma is advantageous. Management courses or a management degree will also be a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Computer literacy with knowledge of D365.
- Proficiency in fault-finding on processing machines.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and understand the planning process.
- Strong report analysis skills.
