About the Role
As a Service Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the smooth functioning of property systems and equipment. This includes addressing issues in plumbing such as repairing leaks, unclogging drains, and maintaining fixtures. You will play a vital role in upholding compliance with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, outlets, and appliances as well as perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC). You will also assist contractors while performing work as directed by the Facilities Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of property system sand equipment, including but not limited to:
- Plumbing: Repair leaks, unclog drains, and maintain fixtures.
- Electrical: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, outlets, and appliances.
- HVAC: Perform preventive maintenance and repair on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Carpentry: Repair or replace furniture, doors, windows, and other wooden fixtures.
- Painting: Touch up paint and maintain the appearance of walls, ceilings, and trim.
- General maintenance: Conduct minor repairs to equipment, fixtures, and amenities throughout the property.
- Respond promptly to guest requests for maintenance assistance, ensuring that all issues are addressed in a timely and efficient manner to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and tasks to minimize downtime and ensure the long-term functionality of facilities and equipment.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed to ensure availability for ongoing maintenance operations.
- Always adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team and staff to address maintenance-related issues and support overall property operations.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Ideal Background
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training or certification in maintenance-related fields is preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a re or hospitality setting.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of maintenance procedures for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance issues independently and efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and staff.
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects and equipment.
