501363 Software Project Lead

IronMountain Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a Software Project Lead to support our customer in Huntsville, Alabama on Redstone Arsenal. An ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s, with 15+ years of relevant work experience. Candidates who apply should have strong oral and written communication skills, and can work effectively with others, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously. An active and transferrable DoD Secret level security clearance is required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage, analyze, document, and track of project cost, schedule, performance, and risks.
- Lead collaborative efforts to develop Contract Requirements Packages (CRPs), such as Request for Proposals (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Contract Data, Requirements Lists (CDRLs), Document Summary Lists (DSLs), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
- Develop project management products, such as resource loaded Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) with critical path analysis
- Provide overall direction and coordination of a multi-disciplined, functional Integrated Product Team (IPT), consisting of Government and OEM contractor personnel
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines resident at the Army System Readiness Directorate (SRD) - Airworthiness to support qualification of aviation avionics and mission equipment.
- Represent the Product Office in technical reviews as required to to include System Requirements Reviews (SRRs), In-Process Reviews, (IPRs), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and Safety Review Boards associated with systems engineering activities.
- Preform the analysis of software requirements to ensure bi-directional traceability and completeness.
- Facilitate and participate in software documentation review (DO-178 documentations set)
- Coordinate review and adjudication of software documentation with certifying agencies
- Identifying and track software risks for the program, formulate and implement risk mitigation plans.
- Support software sustainment activities, including AR770-3 Software Release (SR) and Software Materiel Release (SMR) processes.
- Assist in identifying and integrating modernization requirements while also implementing principles of Modular Open System Architecture (MOSA).
- Prepare and/or briefing presentations, training materials, white papers, etc.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Education and General experience:
- General understanding of DO-178 design and development processes
- BS degree preferred with 15+ years’ relevant work experience
- Project Lead/Program Management experience
- Understanding of agile software development process
- Must possess experience, education or training in related field
- Must have the ability to adapt to program changes based on design / acquisition / schedule / cost requirements
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and pay close attention to detail
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance
Desired Skills:
- General knowledge of Army Aviation Platforms and Avionics Architecture
- Candidate should have experience working with certifying agencies for airworthiness and safety
- Working knowledge of Army Acquisition process and Material Release process
- Familiarity with System Integration Laboratory (SIL) use and their role in development and testing activity
- Familiarity Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
