Sr. Cloud and Network Operations Engineer

The Senior Cloud/Network Operations Engineer is a pivotal role within our Engineering team, charged with architecting, deploying, and managing our advanced cloud-based infrastructure to support critical healthcare applications. This senior position demands strategic vision and deep technical skills to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security of our systems.

Essential Functions of the Role:

• Strategic Infrastructure Design and Deployment: Lead the design and deployment of scalable and secure cloud-based infrastructure, leveraging advanced AWS services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, EC2, ECS, and ECR.
• Advanced AWS Networking: Oversee AWS networking components including VPCs, subnets, ACLs, routing, VPC peering, and security groups, ensuring robust and secure connections.
• Automation and Solution Engineering: Develop and implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terratest, including hands-on coding. Create and manage GitHub Actions workflows for automated CI/CD processes.
• Solution Development and Implementation: Engage in solutioning sessions to design and deploy comprehensive cloud solutions that meet business needs.
• Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct peer code reviews, ensuring adherence to high standards of code quality and functionality.
• Leadership and Collaboration: Lead project teams, providing technical guidance and support. Collaborate with various stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 8+ years of experience in cloud operations and infrastructure management, with significant experience in a senior or leadership role.
• Licensure/Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect certification highly desired.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

• Databricks: Expertise in managing and executing jobs within a Databricks cluster.
• Comprehensive AWS Understanding: Deep knowledge of AWS services, with a focus on solution architecture including Lambda, S3, API Gateway, EC2, ECS, ECR, Transfer Family (SFTP).
• GitHub Actions: Expertise in creating and managing workflows and action triggers.
• Hands-On Experience: Proficient in Terraform, Terratest (Golang); expected to engage actively in coding and system configuration.
• Infrastructure as Code: Robust understanding of infrastructure as code principles and their critical role in cloud infrastructure management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional Tools: Experience with Terragrunt and its reference architecture.
• Programming Skills: Strong in Python, shell scripting, and JavaScript.
• AWS CloudFormation: Proficiency in managing and deploying CloudFormation stacks.
