Job Description
The Archive Technician will join a team of specialists who are responsible for the interrogation of theatrically graded & ungraded DSM’s, DCDM’s, IMP’s, and associated projects, in preparation for long term preservation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed division of the Digital Cinema Department at Pixelogic.
Other responsibilities include testing of tools and applications, data entry related to work orders, collaboration with other departments, and providing feedback to the Project Management Team, Mastering and Content Services.
You should have a broad understanding of the technical aspects of various audio/video media specifications. You should be highly motivated, possess a flexible attitude, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work as part of a team who deals with shifting priorities and workload.
Schedule: Monday-Friday,5pm-1:30am
Rate: $30-35/hr
Duties
Check, prep, and conform source materials
Loading color grading projects & associated media from 3rd party Digital Intermediary (DI) Labs
Interrogation of DI projects to confirm all elements are intact
Comparison of the DI project to a “hero” source for validation
Creation of media outputs
Specialized mastering of content as and when applicable
Data entry related to work orders and project trackers
Requirements
Skills and Abilities
Picture and audio editing, transcoding/encoding, sound syncing, and color conversion experience is required
Solid knowledge of film & digital file formats
Knowledge in color space, aspect ratio, transfer characteristics, video and audio codecs, compression and other characteristics associated with media is required
Familiarity and working knowledge of tools and applications including, but not limited to, DVS Clipster, Colorfront Transkoder, DaVinci Resolve, & BaseLight are essential
Experience with DCP and IMF is a huge plus
Experience in a post-production finishing environment. QC experience is a plus
Proficient with Mac OS, Windows, and Linux
Problem solver with creative and innovative approach and the ability to think outside the box

Ability to prioritize and manage processes to achieve deadlines whilst producing quality work

Experience
Minimum two years of experience in a Postproduction environment
