SAIT’s Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) focuses on non-credit programs supporting corporate training, the individual learner and international projects. We create courses and programs for life-long learning with careers at our core. Our courses range from exploring general interests to up-skilling for career advancement and reskilling for career changes. We complete all background activities required to set up our products for students to purchase and experience several delivery options.
Scope of work;
The SME will work with one of our Instructional Designers to build out a 7 hour pilot for face to face course for our corporate client. SME hours offered are approx. 40 hours, Nov. 1 to March 30, 2025
Future potential to teach this course in Calgary at client site starting approx. May 2025 on a scheduled basis.
From there then advance this course to 24-28 hours in total for future client training.

Desired Learning Objectives & Outcomes
After attending the behavioral finance training program team members will demonstrate the following observable behaviors:
Understand Behavioral Finance Theories and Concepts:
· Financial advisors will gain a comprehensive understanding of key behavioral finance theories and concepts, such as cognitive biases, emotional decision-making, and heuristics. This knowledge will enable them to recognize how these factors influence client behavior.
Apply Behavioral Insights to Client Interactions:
· Participants will learn to apply behavioral finance insights in their interactions with clients, enhancing their ability to manage client expectations, improve communication, and provide more effective financial advice that accounts for behavioral tendencies.
Develop Strategies for Mitigating Behavioral Biases:
· Financial advisors will be equipped with strategies and tools to identify and mitigate common behavioral biases in both themselves and their clients. This includes biases like overconfidence, loss aversion, and confirmation bias.
Enhance Client Relationship Management:
· Through understanding behavioral finance, advisors will improve their client relationship management skills. They will be better prepared to address clients’ emotional and psychological needs, leading to stronger, more trusting client-advisor relationships.
Integrate Behavioral Finance into Financial Planning and Investment Strategies:
· Participants will learn how to integrate behavioral finance principles into financial planning and investment strategy development. This includes creating portfolios and financial plans that are not only financially sound but also psychologically attuned to the client’s behavior patterns and risk tolerance.
· Deep questioning, and observation of behavioral cues to uncover client’s biases and elicit current and future needs-Identify psychological, cognitive, emotional, cultural and social motivations that are driving behavior, and gently/respectfully correct for them
