The Warehouse and Inventory Assistant will play a pivotal role in maintaining Tayco’s warehouse and inventory processes and optimizing all aspects related to inventory, ensuring operational continuity and efficiency. This role requires a keen eye for detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across various departments to ensure the efficient flow of materials and products throughout our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Regularly conduct physical and cycle counts of inventory to reconcile discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Implement and oversee inventory control procedures to minimize losses and enhance overall efficiency.
- Collaborate with production and procurement teams to perform Work in Process for cycle counts.
- Analyze inventory variances and root cause the issues.
Continuous Improvement
- Continuously identify and recommend ways to apply lean manufacturing methodologies to enhance warehouse and inventory processes.
- Ensure alignment with long- and short-term strategies and objectives, implementing improvements in an effective and timely manner.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Work closely with Customer Experience Representatives (CER) and Scheduling teams when customers have must-arrive dates.
- Confirm the availability of items by verifying inventory records or conducting inventories of required items.
- Respond quickly to material flow concerns within the plant.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing/warehousing environment.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience using ERP systems, or inventory/warehouse management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Salary Range: $50,000 to $55,000
