Provides expertise in integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
The Software Integration Engineer shall be responsible for supporting the CASA Compute Environment (CCE) SaaS team and mission services. The CCE provides several containerized services that customers can provision and access on demand inside of a Kubernetes cluster. Some of the services include SPARTANDESK, Gitlab CI/CD, Jupyter Notebooks, MinIO, and several other products. The Software Integration Engineer shall perform maintenance and troubleshooting of containerized applications, upgrade services, and assist customers using the CCE. Additional tasking shall include customer support to CCE customers across several Hustle channels and via help desk tickets.
Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).
Capabilities
- Ability to integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software
- Generate documentation for the full software stack
- Update software for sustainment support
- Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting
- Execute test codes for characterization of software performance
- Provide software product ownership for HPC tools
- Working knowledge of CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI with agency appropriate polygraph
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and have at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment
OR
- The individual shall have five (5) years full time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and have at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience
OR
- An industry recognized professional certification, as defined in the TT0s, may substitute as one (1) year experience. A Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years' experience
Required Technical Skills
- Experience using the Linux CLI
- Experience with Bash/Python scripting
- Experience creating containerized applications/services using Docker/containerd
- Experience updating containerized applications to address STE/STN requirements
- Experience migrating applications into containerized environments
- Experience with creating Helm Charts for Kubernetes
- Experience with deploying and maintaining services on Kubernetes
- Experience with creating and managing Gitlab CI/CD pipelines
- Experience providing customer outreach and troubleshooting support
- Experience transitioning applications and services to AWS
- Experience with Git Source Control System
Desired Technical Skills
- Experience with the Atlassian Tool suite including Confluence and Jira
- Willingness to demonstrate functionality to the CCE user community as needed
