2024 Point72 Academy Case Competition—New York City
The Point72 Academy Case Competition is your chance to showcase your investing skills by presenting a stock pitch to Point72 with a team from your university.

You and two teammates will research a case and assemble your unique view. Finalists will be paired with a Point72 mentor and given the opportunity to present your pitch to Point72 professionals in our New York City office. Prizes include scholarships and accelerated interview process for future opportunities. 

Prep your pitch: You and your teammates will conduct research, build a model, and submit your analysis as a presentation on a company provided to you by Point72. Point72 will review these pitches and select finalists.

Refine with a Mentor: We’ll pair each finalist team with a Point72 mentor, who will help you refine your pitch for your final presentation to the Point72 team.

Present your case: As a Finalist, you’ll earn a trip to NYC where you’ll rise to the challenge of presenting your case to members of our investment professional community. You’ll also network with your peers and representatives from our recruiting, Academy, and investing teams.

 
How to Participate in the Point72 Academy Case Competition—New York City

1. Register
   • Your team must consist of three students from the same U.S. university, with no team member being in their third or higher year of university.
   • Each team must identify a single team captain and a team name.
   • Each team must register and apply as a group, using and submitting the same application, meaning your team captain must have a copy of your resume.
   • The additional team members will be asked to upload a few other details separately after we receive the team submission
   • The deadline for registration is October 1st, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET.
2. Submit
   • On October 2^nd, 2024, selected team captains will receive submission instructions for their teams’ entry.
   • Teams must then submit their presentation following the submission instructions by October 14^th, 2024.
3. Finalist Weekend
   • Finalists will receive notification by October 28^th, 2024.
   • We will pair finalist teams with a mentor from Point72, who will provide expertise and assistance as students refine and improve their final presentations.
   • Final presentations must be submitted by November 11^th, 2024.
   • The Finalist Weekend will take place in New York City on November 15^th – 16^th.
   • Point72 will cover all travel and accommodation costs within reason.

Case Competition Timeline

October 1st, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET: Registration closes
October 2nd, 2024: Case assignment sent via email to registered team captains
October 14th,2024: Deadline to submit presentation
October 29th, 2024: Finalists announced & Point72 mentors assigned
November 11th, 2024: Deadline to submit final presentation
November 15th – 16th, 2024: Case Competition Finalist Weekend in New York 

 Competition Rules and Important Considerations for Applicants

• Undergraduate students graduating from December 2026 – July 2028 from a nationally accredited university in the United States are eligible. Students graduating in any other years are not eligible.
  • There will be other opportunities for students graduating between December 2025 – July 2026 released in Q1 2025.
• All three students of a single team must attend and reside at the same undergraduate institution for the duration of the competition.
• Students may only apply for either this case competition with a team OR the 2025 Future of Finance Accelerator, not both.
• If the registration instructions outlined above are not followed, your team may be disqualified.
• The case assignment and detailed guidelines will be released on October 2^nd, 2024 from AcademyRecruiting@point72.com.
• Finalist teams may be disqualified if all members cannot attend the final round November 15^th – 16^th in NYC.
• Finalist teams will be paired with a Point72 mentor for feedback on their pitch prior to final presentation submission. Point72 mentors will be available for a 60-minute call to discuss the pitch.
• All team members are required to have speaking parts during the finalist presentations.
• Point72 will cover travel and accommodation expenses within reason.
