Our mission is to create brilliant places through conscious commercialism, and we are committed to sustainable and responsible management of our assets.</p><p>We are seeking a dedicated and experienced <strong>Building Caretaker</strong> to undertake day to day responsibilities at St James Chambers, located in the heart of Central London. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of the property and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all residents and visitors.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul> <li><strong>Key Handling:</strong> Manage keys for St James’s Chambers, 37 Duke Street, and 59/60 Jermyn Street.</li> <li><strong>Resident Assistance:</strong> Address resident queries and provide general assistance.</li> <li><strong>Maintenance Reporting:</strong> Identify and report maintenance issues, including fire alarm panels, common areas, lifts, leaks, lighting, and repairs.</li> <li><strong>Contractor Oversight:</strong> Coordinate and provide access to contractors.</li> <li><strong>Health and Safety:</strong> Report any health and safety issues immediately and maintain a safe environment.</li> <li><strong>Cleaning Duties:</strong> Undertake cleaning tasks including hoovering, mopping, dusting, and brass cleaning.</li> <li><strong>Refuse Management:</strong> Arrange daily removal of residents’ refuse.</li> <li><strong>Post Distribution:</strong> Distribute post and parcels to residents.</li> <li><strong>Emergency Handling:</strong> Manage emergencies and report to the wider team.</li> <li><strong>Meter Readings:</strong> Supply meter readings to the utility broker as requested.</li> <li><strong>Email Monitoring:</strong> Respond to emails sent to the Building Manager address.</li> <li><strong>Ad-hoc Duties:</strong> Perform additional tasks as necessary.</li></ul><p><strong>Personal Requirements:</strong></p><ul> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> At least five years’ experience in a caretaker or similar role.</li> <li><strong>Customer Service:</strong> Excellent customer service skills.</li> <li><strong>IT Skills:</strong> General knowledge of Outlook and IT skills.</li> <li><strong>Health and Safety Knowledge:</strong> Preferential knowledge of Health and Safety law and the Building Safety Act.</li></ul><p><em><strong>This role will require the successful candidate to live on site</strong></em></p><p>At The Crown Estate, we believe in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
