Recreation Resource Assistant
Location: Hat Creek/Susanville, CA
Position Description: This position will assist district recreation staff with implementation of the recreation program on the Hat Creek and Eagle Lake Districts of the Lassen National Forest. Some of the duties will include, working with partners, interacting with the public, recreation special uses, lands special uses, attending NEPA meetings with other recreation staff, and inventory for trails and recreation sites.
Duties:
Coordination with District Recreation Officer on opening and closing recreation sites.
Working with partners that we have agreements with. Including Wilderness trails and non-Wilderness trails.
Learning the Special Use Permit process. This will give applicant insight into the vast uses on National Forest System Lands.
Public outreach at events that come up. This will help educate the public on the huge recreation opportunities on the Lassen National Forest.
Qualifications:
Skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. In order to participate in the Resource Assistant Program incumbent must either be in college or freshly graduated

Direct Hire Authority Eligibility – after completing minimum of 960 hours, DHA status provides special non-competitive hiring status when applying for Forest Service positions
