Director, Decision Modeling

• Subject Matter Expertise/Domain Knowledge
  • Demonstrates expert understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs, and requirements for health technology assessment, evidenced by a track record of relevant publications
  • Sufficient understanding of relevant methods to be able to oversee model development/validation and integration of evidence regarding comparative efficacy and utility modelling/mapping (trial-based or indirect comparison)
  • Clearly explains the rationale, methods/results, and strategy for studies to project teams, clients, and external stakeholders
  • Understands strengths and limitations of alternative approaches and proposes applications/solutions of new or existing methods tailored to a specific research question
• Deliverable Creation
  • Reviews and signs off on deliverables as client ready including protocols, statistical analysis plans, technical reports, and slides
  • Identifies necessary deviations from templates to ensure content aligns with objectives
• Strategic Direction
  • Contributes to short-term resourcing discussions as well as long-term strategic planning in conjunction with other senior leaders
• Project Management
  • Leads multiple projects and responsible for ensuring overall quality
  • Develops recommendations based on expected impact, communicates risks and opportunities to ensure staff alignment, and assumes the role of final decision maker able to overturn decisions and take accountability for outcomes
  • Accountable for timely delivery and financial performance across projects
• Client Management
  • Provides final sign-off on update slides/minutes and actions for overall study; owns relationships with clients and viewed as subject matter expert
  • Acts as advisor on client calls and responses to emails
  • Proactively manages client expectations and works with team members to implement strategies to problem solve on a client or project-basis
• Line Management/Team Development
  • Creates development plans and acts as a mentor for direct reports
  • Supports team members to effectively communicate within and across teams, resolve conflicts tactfully, stimulate morale
  • Develops strategy for broader team development and recruitment
• Business Development
  • Provides methodological/subject matter input to and signs off on proposals and presentation content
  • Leads meetings related to new business
  • Proactively identifies new business opportunities

Minimum required experience for this role is:

• Master’s degree in a subject related to health services research e.g., health economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or science (biology/biochemistry etc.)
• 8-10 years’ professional experience, at least part of which has been spent in a consulting environment
