The Purpose: 

As a provider of globally competitive payment services, we are looking for a passionate, high-performing professional to join our team in Sydney. As a Senior Risk Manager supporting our Risk Transformation Program (RTP), you will play a pivotal role in helping us safeguard the operations of Australia’s payments network. You will be a member of a dedicated team responsible for driving the development, implementation and embedment of key risk and compliance management strategies, frameworks and processes across a range of risk categories.

We’re a relatively small organisation with a flat structure, so this role will be hands on. This will involve day-to-day delivery to progress the program deliverables, collaborating across functions to ensure stakeholders are appropriately engaged, consulted and supported through change and helping to define what good risk management practices look like for an organisation of our size and complexity.

 This is a 12 months fixed term contract role

Responsibilities of the role will cover the following key areas:

• Drive control uplift initiatives across AP+.  This will include working with control owners to identify control weaknesses, and plan remediation activities.
• Be hands-on in leading the remediation of key controls across AP+.  This will include documenting controls and implementing identified improvements.
• Drive the development and enhancement of risk policy, processes and procedures.
• Perform risk and control assessments across various business lines, products and suppliers.
• Work with stakeholders across the organisation to drive risk uplift.
• Support Program Stream Leads to monitor progress and identify risks and issues relating to delivery.
• Provide project management support to internal working groups and governance committees.

The skills & knowledge you need to have: 

• Relevant tertiary education in Business, Finance, Economics or Law
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in risk or audit disciplines such as operational risk, third party oversight risk, compliance and/or technology risk.
• Experience with controls testing, assurance and /or audit is required.
• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of the practical implementation of operational risk frameworks in a regulated financial service organisation
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and rapport with stakeholders.
• Strong organisation skills and proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple deliverables.
• An ability to apply critical thinking, solve problems and provide pragmatic solutions.
• A collaborative mindset to deliver positive and high-quality outcomes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills including the confidence to liaise with stakeholders across multiple levels of the organisation.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• Flexible mindset to support the team with any cross skilling as required
