Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients an Assistant Director of Nursing in Geneva, NY, US.
Responsibilities:
Under administrative guidance of LTC DON, establishes, maintains and enhances systems within the unit/department to achieve positive outcomes. This includes planning and initiation of evaluation of strategies to ensure competency and excellence in nursing practice, maintenance and use of technology, and customer satisfaction. Responsible for budgeting, financial analysis, cost maintenance and revenue enhancement to achieve quality resident care in a fiscally responsible manner. 24 hour responsibility and accountability for the facilities. Participate and/or chair committees related to the operation of the organization as it pertains to nursing responsibilities. Under administrative guidance of LTC DON, the Assistant DON duties will include, but are not limited to: 1) oversight of Performance Improvement Program of the facility to ensure care delivery to the standards and expectations that support the mission, vision and values of the organization and participates in LTC divisional Performance Improvement Committee; 2) oversight of PRI & MDS process related to components to maximize reimbursement capabilities to be financially sound; 3) represent the Nursing Dept of the facility on LTC Safety Committee and coordinate employee safety initiatives; 4) coordinate LTC attendance procedure process; 5) responsible for daily supervisory responsibilities; 6)will assume Nurse Manager responsibilities in the absence of another Nurse Manager; and 7) to interview CNA candidates.
Requirements
Education:
Minimum: Graduate of an accredited school or Registered Professional Nursing with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree or willingness to actively pursue.
License/Certification:
Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure
Experience:
Minimum: Four years of managerial experience and two years of nursing experience and demonstrated leadership abilities in the Long Term Care setting. Knowledge/application of New York State Department of Health regulations and survey process and successful experience
Preferred: Prior Assistant Director level experience
Minimum: Proven ability to develop healthy relationships with others (with medical staff, other department managers, and the public) in a resident/family centered focused environment. Demonstrated ability to work with residents and staff in a variety of stressful and adverse scenarios. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Ability for high level of multi-tasking. Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point
Preferred: PRI & MDS knowledge/experience; Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point.;
