The Senior Manager, Financial Systems will oversee the strategic design, while executing, and continuously improving the financial systems that support the Finance team and overall organization. This role is pivotal in transforming data into actionable insights that inform decision-making and support business objectives related to accurate financial planning, internal and external financial reporting, and internal controls.
You will report directly to our Senior Director of Finance Operations and be based in our New York City office (flex/hybrid).

- Oversee the implementation of initiatives to enhance and optimize critical financial systems, ensuring alignment with Finance and company goals in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Own the planning and roadmap for the financial systems team, ensuring initiatives and investments are closely aligned with business value.
- Establish a robust foundation for scaling the financial systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency in operations, including but not limited to effective intake processes, system implementations, enhancements and maintenance.
- Direct the development, implementation and administration of the company's financial systems by managing resource capacity, workloads and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Manage projects and the system development life cycle; review, clarify, and/or test deliverables; work with the Finance team to define requirements, conduct needs analysis, determine project specifications, identify solutions, and implement recommendations.
- Establish strong partnerships with leaders and cross functional teams to help drive successful implementations, proactively offering recommendations based on best practices and your own experience.
- Oversee the financial systems integration during mergers, acquisitions and other key transactions, ensuring the seamless integration of disparate finance systems and processes.
- Partner with our Engineering team on enhancements to our home-grown billing and revenue recognition systems.
- Manage accurate design and execution of key internal controls over financial systems.
- Promote continuous improvement through automation and process transformation.
- Quickly learn new technologies, think out-of-the-box to find creative solutions, and communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to manage internal work, implementations and support.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on financial technology, providing guidance, training, and support to Finance teams and stakeholders across the organization.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Legal, and Internal Control teams to ensure a unified approach to data security, business continuity, and compliance across the organization
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within financial systems through regular audits and quality checks.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in financial technology to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation related to financial systems.
- Build and develop a team as we scale.
Who We're Looking For
- Minimum bachelor's degree in Management Systems, IT or Financial. MBA and/or CPA, CIA, PMP.
- 10+ years of proven experience as a Financial Systems professional with at least 5 years in a people management capacity.
- Prior experience and strong understanding of ERP technology and financial systems with proven experience with Netsuite, Workday Adaptive, and/or Coupa.
- Proven experience being a liaison between finance, product and engineering departments with experience driving excellence through end-to-end ownership and collaboration.
- Strong knowledge of Accounting, FP&A and internal control activities, with a process improvement mindset.
- A data-driven approach to complex system issues.
- Experience leading system implementation and enhancements projects, with a focus on cross functional teamwork.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to financial systems, such as SOX, PCI or GDPR.

Cash Compensation Range: $178,500 - $250,000 USD
The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.
In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
