 POSITION OVERVIEW:

Prudential Center and the New Jersey Devils are seeking an experienced Assistant Ice Technician to assist the Head Ice Technician in preparing and maintaining two NHL ice rinks at the highest standards. This position will perform all required ice maintenance for the New Jersey Devils practice facility programming, as well as assist with Devils games and other ice related events.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW:

• Operate Zamboni ice resurfacer and all other ice making equipment and tools
• Assist in daily maintenance and upkeep on Zamboni ice resurfacer (blade changes, replacing towels and brushes, lubricating grease points, etc.)
• Assist in the installation and removal of game rink ice sheet and practice rink ice sheet
• Monitor building conditions that effect ice conditions
• Perform ice maintenance to ensure the highest quality ice standards for New Jersey Devils practices and games, practice rink programming, and all other ice shows, including but not limited to Disney on Ice, Stars on Ice, and Cirque Du Soleil
• Inspect and make repairs as needed to the game rink and practice rink hockey systems (boards, glass, netting, etc.)
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Zamboni ice resurfacer, as well as other ice making tools and equipment
• Knowledge of ice rink operations standards and procedures
• Ability to follow detailed maintenance plans
• Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Should be self-motivated, mature, and detail oriented
• Must possess a high energy level and passion
• Must have the ability to rise to the challenge and provide the hard work vital to succeed
• Must possess outstanding problem-solving capabilities

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work Environment: (e.g.) This position generally requires that work be performed from the Prudential Center/New Jersey Devils offices, and in the New Jersey Devils Practice Facility. The majority of work will occur during nights and weekends.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must have the ability and willingness to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
