We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Medical Director (MD)
This position is a hybrid role with the expectation to work in our service area 1-2 days per week and from a remote office the remaining 3-4 days per week.
YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this position:
- Provides clinical leadership within one or more of the Health Services functional areas, such as Utilization Management, Quality Improvement and Population Health, Pharmacy, Care Management, and Enhanced Health Services
- Develops and improves relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the professional medical community, and maintains and enhances communications with similar Health Plan organizations
- Participates in all aspects of regulatory compliance related to Health Services functions

- Knowledge of:
- Methods of designing, operationalizing, evaluating, and iterating workflows and programs
- Data collection and management practices, as related to utilization and quality of medical care
- Principles and practices of program development and project management
- Ability to:
- Independently navigate complex systems in order to effectively and efficiently implement new programs in a timely manner
- Communicate clearly and consistently and work collaboratively with stakeholders and partners, such as patients, community-based organizations, and healthcare providers
- Resolve complex problems with creativity and resourcefulness
- Demonstrate sensitivity, empathy and understanding to a culturally diverse member population
- Evaluate, qualitatively and quantitatively, a broad variety of programs and processes and use these evaluations to ensure ongoing quality improvement
- Develop, plan, organize and direct programs and activities that are complex in nature and regional in scope
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, organize work, and achieve goals and timelines
- Foster effective working relationships, influence others and build consensus with individuals at all levels in the organization
- Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Medicine, current license to practice medicine issued by the State of California, Board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties
- A minimum of three years of experience working in medical programs administration, including experience with the peer review process; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying
OTHER INFORMATION
- We are in a hybrid work environment and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
- While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).
Santa Cruz County Pay Range
$289,086—$462,550 USD
Merced County Pay Range
$263,059—$341,977 USD
Monterey County Pay Range
$289,086—$462,550 USD
Mariposa County Pay Range
$263,059—$341,976 USD
San Benito County Pay Range
$289,086—$462,550 USD
