Brief Overview of the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop our Sales Team in our Mexico City office, located in the Santa Fé area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a background in solution selling, a passion for identifying and developing sales talent, and strong management and leadership skills to navigate organizational and human relationships.
The Role:
Develop and expand the existing team in Mexico City, including recruiting and training new sales executives and continue to train existing team in Euromonitor’s sales approach and methods.
Maximize the sales territory potential.
Support team members to achieve individual targets and the overall team target.
Attend high-level client meetings, focusing on sales and consulting presentations.
Report to Sales Director and Country Manager on progress, activities, and any issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Territory and Products:
Continually enhance understanding of Euromonitor syndicated products and custom solutions.
Maximize territory opportunities through careful analysis of prospects in Mexico and the Caribbean, opportunity mapping, and ongoing research of target accounts, sector issues, and competitive strategies.
Assist team members in closing deals in new sectors and/or with new functions, always seeking new applications and ways to drive solution-based urgency.
Hiring and Development:
Develop tailored onboarding plans for each new hire, focusing on maximizing strengths, filling skill and experience gaps, recognizing opportunities and threats in the territory, and tracking progress.
Create individual improvement plans based on yearly appraisals, incorporating skill development, experiential learning, and obstacle resolution.
Maintain an open management posture, encouraging team members to seek your involvement as needed.
Foster a goal-oriented, proactive, enthusiastic, and creative team culture.
Team Performance:
Develop strategies to ensure we are adding value to new and existing clients in the region. Leverage product knowledge, sales expertise, and territory research to maximize returns from assigned sectors and strategic accounts.
Regularly meet with team members to discuss revenue plans and analyze pipelines, ensuring opportunity accuracy and identifying areas for improvement.
Proactively seek ways to improve team motivation and satisfaction.
Organizational Leadership:
Collaborate with cross-functional peers across offices to ensure your team is fully supported by company resources and subject matter experts.
Work closely with peers in other global offices to implement coordinated global account strategies and resolve pricing and approach disagreements. Develop strong working relationships with international peers.
Ensure proper utilization of company systems, highlighting time savings and productivity benefits for team members.
Performance Measures:
Meet and exceed annual team targets and maximize value we deliver to our clients in the region.
Achieve high client retention rates.
Collaborate with Research to develop research partnerships with clients.
Successfully fill all sales vacancies with strong candidates.
Foster a strong morale and work ethic within the sales team.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Proven track record in new business sales, client development, account management, or consulting business development.
Demonstrable sales management experience.
In-depth knowledge of Mexico’s business culture and landscape.
Team player with the ability to drive and motivate people, inspiring trust and commitment through leadership and strong social skills.
Organized and clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
Skills/Proficiencies Required:
5+ years of experience in both managing people and selling intangible solutions in the B2B space.
Strong business acumen in the international business environment, marketing, and strategic planning.
Refined consultative and solution sales skills, including account analysis, scheduling demonstrations, running effective meetings, and developing high-quality proposals.
Natural curiosity and passion for learning.
Excellent time management skills and strong goal orientation.
Demonstrated excellence in leading effective sales teams, balancing delegation with personal responsibilities, collaborating with other departments, and initiating organizational improvements.
Positive, energetic demeanor, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English required.
