Job Title: Social Worker- Behavioral Health Unit  

Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Master’s Degree Level Social Worker serves as a resource expert to the Case Management Team, physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients and patients’ families in a collaborative process evidenced by assessing, planning, and facilitation of options and services to meet individuals’ complex biomedical and psychosocial needs. The master’s degree Level Social Worker also provides support to in-patient nursing staff for appropriate discharge planning and provides quality support and assistance to the non-licensed Social Work staff. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.

Experience:

• Minimum of five years’ experience in social services preferably in an in-patient psychiatric unit.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of government entitlement programs and community resources
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.
• A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care.

Education:

•  Master’s degree in social work or related field required.

Licensure/Certifications:

• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
