Director, VoIP Engineering

What We Are Looking For:

The Director Voice Engineering manages a vibrant Engineering team that’s located within our larger Technology organization. We’re a mission-driven team who’s focused on our people and how we can best work for and love the success of others.

What You'll Do:

• Manage a team of VoIP Engineers embedded in delivery teams
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence
• Collaborate with other teams including, product, operations, technology, and software development on new product development
• Keep up to date on the latest carrier voice technologies.  Including attending technical conferences and industry meetings.
• Set and enforce the standard of quality for voice engineering
• Assist with escalations from the NOC on complex VoIP Engineering issues
• Negotiate purchase agreements, and support contracts with equipment vendors

What You Need:

• Previous experience as a voice engineer in a carrier or large enterprise network
• 5 years of experience managing an engineering team
• Experience with carrier voice equipment such as Ribbon, Audiocodes, Metaswitch or others
• Advanced to expert level knowledge of SIP, RTP and other common VoIP protocols

Bonus Points:

• Experience working with incumbents in markets other than US/Canada
• Experience with SIGTRAN/SS7
