About the Role:
Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant, Inventory & Revenue, will assist in all areas related to the monthly reporting cycle. This position will directly own monthly entries and reconciliations and will be responsible for researching and resolving complex accounting issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple competing priorities.
Core Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Prepares monthly and quarterly journal entries, including but not limited to the following: inventory, expense accruals, fixed asset activities, allocations, prepaids, payroll-related activities, intercompany transactions, COGS, and other GL-related activities
- Substantiate journal entries with supporting documentation
- Responsible for performing monthly general ledger closing procedures for inventory and COGS, including account analysis and reconciliations and reconciling subledger activities and other areas as needed
- Track and manage inventory payables mailbox and process inventory payables invoices as needed.
- Work with Procurement on pricing & quantity issues related to invoices
- Process ad-hoc inventory adjustments as requested by the business, including year-end physical inventory adjustments
- If needed, attend and observe cycle counts and physical inventories at various locations within the US
- Prepares applicable MTD, QTD, and YTD roll forward reports
- Maintain and update close and post-close checklists
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures as assigned
- Aid in other accounting processes, such as software/salary capitalization, payment processors, and footnote preparation
- Liaise with various departments for accounting matters, including but not limited to, Information Technology, Operations, Sales, Education and FP&A
- Actively participate in the design, development, and implementation of process improvements that create efficiencies and improve the integrity of the company’s financial reporting system
- Play a key role in system implementation testing, design, upgrades, and training, specifically automating a 3-Way match system to reduce inventory AP complexity and processing time
- Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Support the team during internal and external audits to provide supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal controls (with regards to SOX 404 requirements), policies and procedures to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting
- Assist team with special projects and ad-hoc reporting as requested
- Participate in weekly team meetings to review day-to-day activity, and monthly results and discuss the organization’s financial policies and procedures
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
- 3+ years of experience of accounting experience with an emphasis on inventory accounting; strong preference for retail or manufacturing industry experience
- Thorough understanding of US General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity within an internal control (SOX) environment is preferred
- Experience with Netsuite ERP or similar software
- Prior experience with Floqast & Audit Board is a plus
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously and manage multiple competing deadlines
- Detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to self-manage is critical due to OLAPLEX's remote work environment
- Ability to work well within a team while also being a strong individual contributor
- Ability to prioritize effectively and communicate conflicts to affected parties
- Good written & verbal communication skills
- Occasional travel may be required

Our Total Rewards:
The annual base pay for this position is $75,000-$95,000 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, years of relevant experience, skill level, functional expertise, certificates or other professional licenses held and geographic location.
