POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / REQUIREMENTS:
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in health & safety training necessary for him to perform his roles effectively.
- Create awareness of the SHE policies and procedures in the organisation.
- Advise and assist the Business in effective SHE Management.
- Maintain SHE manual, procedures, SHE Legislations/ Codes/ Standards and other related records.
- Organise and conduct health & safety training/ briefings.
- Recommend and work with SHE Coordinators to plan SHE promotion.
- Plan and conduct SHE inspections.
- Look into and address SHE issues brought up by the authorities, staff, management, customers or contractors.
- Recommend correction and improvement strategies for the business.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Branch Manager on SHE matters.
- Monitor and update business of any new or revised SHE standards/ regulations from the regional office, authorities or customers.
- Ensure all incidents are properly investigated and appropriate follow-up actions are taken. Investigate serious accidents/ dangerous occurrences with the Investigation Team to determine root causes and monitor the follow-up of preventive measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Handle general SHE related correspondence.
- Report and review the organisation's SHE Performance with the Regional SHE Manager and Business Management Team periodically and develop Strategic SHE Plans.
- Report accident data on a monthly basis to National SHE Manager via SHE Scorecard.
- Review and report the SHE performance of the business every 6 months to the Regional SHE Manager via the On-line SHE Scorecard.
- Managing all aspects of an organisation’s environmental compliance, including development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations
- Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans, to ensure corporate sustainable development focusing on reduction in usage of Consumable, Hardware, Waste.
- Calculate carbon footprint reduction due to less usage of Chemical, Waste, Fuel, Battery , Electricity etc.
- Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to internal and external clients
- Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of an organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issues
- Implement best practice in areas of corporate, ethical and social responsibility and address any issues arising
- Train staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities
- Developing and implementing strategies for minimising environmental impacts or changes in current operations
- Coordinate with cross functional team and prepare MIS report and trend analysis for Environment sustenance of the business
- Identify , plan and execute new initiative on business environment sustenance front.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of relevant experience in Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Possess degree or diploma in Health & Safety
- Graduate from science, agriculture disciplines
- Willing to travel 10 days per month to different business divisions within the country to drive SHE programs such as training, promotion, inspection, and meetings.
- Ability to develop, present and implement corporate policies & strategies for SHE management
- Effective communication, training and organisation skills
- Good Computer proficiency
