ABOUT THE ROLE
The Spatial Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing spatial data to support our consulting business. The ideal candidate will have experience in spatial analysis, geographic information systems (GIS), and related technologies. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams. You enjoy working with data, are comfortable performing complex analysis and translating data into actionable insights that inform strategy and design. You are a whiz at creating engaging maps and other visualizations that tell a concise story. You are a collaborative team player looking to advance our capabilities and develop new products, tools, models, and services.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Collect, process, and analyze spatial data using GIS software and other tools
- Create and maintain spatial databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Develop maps, models, tools, and visualizations to support decision-making processes
- Conduct spatial analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within the data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate spatial data into projects and workflows
- Provide technical support and training to team members on spatial analysis tools and techniques
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations of analysis results for stakeholders
- Stay current with advancements in GIS technology and spatial analysis methodologies
- Support clear, compelling analysis and data visualization, including figures, reports and presentations
- Collaborate across Blue Cottage teams to drive value and impactful solutions
- Support in project documentation, research briefs, meeting materials, analysis, graphics, best practice presentations, benchmark info and interim and final deliverables as needed
- Foster a commitment to excellence in service delivery and continuous improvement
- Achieve utilization targets commensurate with your role and level
ABOUT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate must have the ability to work independently and to manage multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in spatial analysis and GIS
- Quantitative strengths in the creation of detailed analytical models using Excel advanced functions and various tools are a must
- Proficiency in GIS and related software such as ArcGIS, PowerBI, Tableau, Adobe Suite, MS Office and related tools
- Proficiency with Esri suite, including ArcGIS Pro, enterprise, web mapping, dashboards, experience builder, etc a must
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data processing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Arcade, Javascript) is a plus
- Familiarity with geospatial data sources is preferred
- Background in AEC (healthcare, education, science & technology, and/or commercial) a plus
The salary range for this position is $71,200 to $89,000 annually. This salary range is the range we believe is the anticipated range of possible base compensation at the timing of the posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for the position. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage and flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances.
