Job Description: Performs a variety of operations to assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies and sheet metal enclosures. Works with assembly prints, wiring diagrams and schematics to assemble drawers, chassis, enclosures and racks. Works on assignments that are complex in nature where judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
PRINCIPAL DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing hand soldering, wire harnessing and cabling on complex electrical rack and assembly units.
May be required to perform repair work, as necessary.
Support production achieve goals set by schedule.
Performs other duties as needed including but not limit to routine go/no-go tests of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
Sets up test devices using hand tools or automatic test methods.
Documents test results.
May maintain logs and records denoting malfunctions.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires production experience with vocational instruction in mechanical assembly.
Basic reading, writing, addition and subtraction skills.
The ability to work from established drawings, and experience in soldering, wire-wrapping and cable harnessing.
Ability to use hand tools and testing equipment.
Familiar With BOM, Drawing, Work Instruction.
Completion of high school degree or equivalent is preferred.
Comments for Suppliers: 02/05 - New request on 1st shift; Need candidates that have experience building complete electronic units from BOMs, schematics, and blueprints. Must also have strong experience with cable assembly. This position is 100% onsite critical. •
