Degreed, the leading upskilling platform, is looking for a Test Automation Engineer to enhance our automated testing capabilities. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be integral in developing and maintaining automated test solutions to ensure the reliability and quality of our web and API applications. This role will be based onsite in Bengaluru, India. After an in-office onboarding period, incumbents are expected to be available in office for a few days per week as part of hybrid work model. Candidates will also be required to travel internationally 1-2 times annually for full company gatherings.
Day In The Life:
- Automated Test Development: Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for end-to-end, API, integration, and mobile testing. Utilize tools such as Cypress, JMeter, and BlazeMeter.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, designers, UX, and developers to understand new features, dependencies, and technical details. Ensure tests align with quality criteria and standards.
- Quality Integration: Partner with developers, product owners, and engineering managers to integrate quality into the development process from the outset.
- Metrics and Reporting: Provide metrics and reports on automation development. Participate in release readiness discussions to ensure quality standards are met.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our automated testing efforts.
- Problem-Solving: Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and improve test coverage and reliability.
- Remote Collaboration: Effectively manage tasks and communication in a globally distributed team environment.
Who You Are:
- Experienced Engineer: At least 3+ years of experience in writing automated test code, with hands-on experience using Cypress for UI and API test automation and Typescript. Experience with JMeter and BlazeMeter is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in designing and developing automated tests for modern web and/or mobile applications using Cypress and Typescript. Familiarity with JMeter and BlazeMeter is advantageous.
- Fast-Paced Environment: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities. Agile Scrum experience is desired.
- CI/CD Knowledge: Understanding of how automated tests fit into the CI/CD pipeline. Experience with Azure pipelines is a plus.
- Organized and Autonomous: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Stable Results: Ability to develop automated tests that produce consistent and stable results.
- API and End-to-End Testing: Proficient in both API testing and end-to-end testing methodologies.
- AI Experience: Experience with using and testing AI technologies is a plus.
- Remote Work Experience: Comfortable with remote work and managing asynchronous communication effectively.
