The Trade Desk is changing the way global brands and their agencies advertise to audiences around the world. How? With a media-buying platform that helps brands deliver a more insightful and relevant ad experience for consumers — and sets a new standard for global reach, accuracy, and transparency.

So if you’re talented, driven, creative, and hungry to bring something entirely new and wildly ambitious into the world (and have some fun doing it), then we want to talk.

What you’ll do:

The Trade Desk is looking for a Manager, Editorial Content to support the Senior Director, Editorial Content and broader team in executing news stories and building in-market visibility for The Trade Desk’s editorial platform, The Current. This person is a compelling writer and storyteller, with the ability to quickly develop journalistic news coverage. The role should be well-versed in pitching and developing timely angles for stories, data storytelling, video concepts or other multimedia storytelling formats.  This includes working cross-functionally with our global creative, communications, regional marketing, and business teams. The ideal candidate will have experience developing a range of content including written, video, animation and data visualizations, as well as a strong project management acumen and a knack for strategic planning.

The candidate should possess exceptional attention to detail, a penchant for working well under pressure, and have deep a passion for creating work with impact. This person should be a self-starter, able to work independently and also collaborate with other team members and stakeholders locally and across different regions and time zones.

In this role, you will:

  • Pitch thought-provoking stories for the calendar that both align to the platform’s tone, voice and style, and explore interesting and relevant angles for the region.
  • Own regional story sourcing and platform growth.
  • Build relationships and work cross-functionally throughout The Trade Desk to help identify key partners and clients that can be highlighted as sources for content.
  • Work with a range of business and marketing leaders in support of  thought leadership programming.
  • Work collaboratively with creative and production partners on pre-production, production, and post-production, including developing creative briefs and filing Asana tickets.

Who you are:

  • We are looking for journalists who are strong writers, curious, strategic thinkers with 6+ years of experience as a reporter or managing editor.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in the creation and execution of content.
  • Proven experience developing high quality, engaging stories.
  • Proven experience creating and amplifying content across different audiences to drive response and engagement.
  • A hungry, eager-to-learn, immensely collaborative team player who can receive feedback easily and implement changes accordingly.
  • Understanding of the advertising industry, the players involved and how brands and agencies operate.
  • Ability to work seamlessly across NA, APAC, EMEA time zones
  • Highly collaborative and able to work in a fast growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Mix of left/ right brain—able to drive creative ideas/ solutions and analytical content.
