CAD Manager (SolidWorks & Swood exp req) Description

Our client, a national supplier of custom millwork and acrylic products for major Retailers and Commercial spaces, is seeking a CAD Manager to lead their design team in Elk Grove, CA. In this role, you’ll oversee the creation of precise, build-ready drawings that bring innovative retail environments to life, combining wood, metal, and acrylic to match unique client visions. As CAD Manager, you will organize and review the work of 6-8 drafters, ensure quality control, and establish efficient design processes to meet project deadlines. You’ll also play a hands-on role in value engineering to maximize both client satisfaction and company profitability. This position involves implementing standards, troubleshooting software issues, and refining workflows to support rapid project execution across multiple accounts. CAD Manager (SolidWorks & Swood exp req) Responsibilities

•    Lead, mentor, and organize a team of 6-8 CAD drafters and programmers
•    Review and approve CAD drawings for accuracy and buildability
•    Optimize drawing processes to enhance efficiency and profitability
•    Develop and enforce design policies and standards across projects
•    Ensure all drawings meet structural, hardware, and placement requirements
•    Oversee up to 100 concurrent projects from conception to client review
•    Provide CAD technical support for SolidWorks, Swood, and Microvellum software
•    Value-engineer solutions that meet both client needs and cost objectives

CAD Manager (SolidWorks & Swood exp req) Qualifications

•    6+ years of AutoCAD experience in millwork/woodworking manufacturing required
•    2+ years of supervisory or management experience required
•    Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and Swood required
•    Extensive experience with drafting and CNC programming methods and tools required
•    Strong organizational and time-management skills required
