Production Associate (Evening & Weekend Shift)

We are seeking a Production Manufacturing Associate, passionate about advancing biology to help execute our daily manufacturing processes under minimum supervision. As a part of our operations team, you will play a central role in bringing our groundbreaking technology for scalable production of long, perfect synthetic DNA to market. Essential Responsibilities:

• Lab Execution: Indecently execute production operations according to defined procedures in a high throughput lab while maintaining product quality and reliability
• Liquid Handler: Operate automated laboratory equipment including liquid handlers, high throughput DNA analyzers, thermocyclers, and DNA sequencers to ensure the timely manufacturing of synthetic DNA
• LIMS: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of production runs and deviations in appropriate information management systems and batch records
• Documentation: Draft and review manufacturing SOPs, work instructions, and production batch records
• Lab Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting of production equipment
• Inventory & Shipping: Perform production inventory management and prepare product for final shipment
• Willingness to work one of the following shift options for this role:
  • Option 1: Wednesday to Sunday (5:00 p.m.-1:30 a.m.)
  • Option 2: Tuesday to Saturday (5:00 p.m.-1:30 a.m.)

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field
• Either recent graduates or have experience in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

• Experience or equivalent training with operation of liquid handling robots
• Experience or equivalent training with PCR, nucleic acid purification and NGS library prep
• Experience or equivalent training with bacterial cell culture (E.coli or yeast) and plasmid cloning
• Experience or passionate to work in the startup environment – ability to anticipate and adapt to change and maintain order
